Kannur: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Air Customs sleuths on Wednesday seized 1,655 grams of gold valued around Rs 80.23 lakh from a passenger who arrived at the Kannur International Airport from Sharjah in a GoAir flight.
Customs Assistant Commissioner E Vikas led team detained Muhammed Anees Nadukandi of Blathur in Kannur district in this connection.
The seized gold in compound form was kept hidden in his pants and underwear.
