Mangaluru: Customs at Mangaluru International Airport have seized foreign currency —- US dollars and UAE Dirham — in two separate incidents, and booked two smugglers.
The officers seized $10,000 in denominations of 100 (equivalent to Rs 7.4 lakh) from a man who is a resident of Kasaragod in Kerala. He was attempting to smuggle the foreign currency through a flight bound for Sharjah on Monday.
On Tuesday customs seized AED 90,000 (equivalent to Rs 17.8 lakh) from a man who is a resident of Mangaluru. He was trying to smuggle the foreign currency to Dubai. TNN
