New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested an Appraiser, Customs Departments of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, New Delhi and his associate, a Customs House Agent (CHA) while accepting Rs 1 lakh bribe. The accused have been identified as Amit Dalal and Amit Kumar.

A case against the accused was registered after a complaint alleging that Dalal had demanded a bribe of Rs 1.4 lakh from the complainant for clearing his shipment of batteries to South Africa.

Acting on the complaint, the CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.1 lakh. Searches are being conducted at the office and the residential premises of both the accused.

Further investigation is underway and the two accused will be produced before a court.
