Pune: An IndiGo flight to Delhi from the city took off six hours behind schedule on Thursday.
What made matters worse for the passengers was that they had to wait inside the aircraft for an hour after boarding, before the flight departed. The flight (6E5004) was scheduled to take off from Pune at 8:50am and reach Delhi by 11:10am.
A flyer told TOI that she had completed the check-in and security checks when she received a text message from the airline about the delay. "We then go to know from the ground staff members that there was some problem with the aircraft in Delhi, leading to the delay. Some flyers might have got the message before they left home so could set out late, but I reached the airport around 6am," she said.
An IndiGo spokesperson said, "IndiGo flight 6E 5004 from Pune to Delhi was delayed due to a technical problem. Passengers are being offered alternative options as per the process. We regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers," the statement from the airline, said.
