Pilots' body writes to ED seeking immediate redressal of roster-related grievances in Air India

The Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) has written to the Executive Director of Air India, seeking immediate redressal of roster-related grievances. The letter highlights critical issues faced by pilots, including sleep cycle disruptions, violations of DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR), and unethical practices within the airline.

"It has been reported that day ops from roster section is calling our pilots in odd ours disturbing there sleep cycle which is gross violation of DGCA CAR," reads the letter.

The ICPA has also emphasized in the letter that forcing pilots to exceed their stipulated flying or duty hours poses serious safety risks and must be rectified immediately.

'Pilots are forced to give extension on flying time or duty time which is also violation of DGCA CAR pilots are threatened for giving extension or face the consequences which is unethical. Cases are also brought to notice flights are changed without informing after that they put blame on ours members which is also unethical," reads the letter.

When CNBC TV18 reached out to Air India, the airline did not give any comment on this issue. Air India has previously stated that the airline does not recognise any union.
