The couple had
booked three tickets, including one for the newborn, for Rs 12,066 to see the husband’s father who
was undergoing treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi.
The couple stated that they mentioned the age of the baby at the time of booking but were stopped
at the check-in counter by the airline staff.
The couple even produced a fitness certificate of the
baby issued by a renowned paediatrician in the city but the SpiceJet staff did not allow them to
travel with the baby.
The SpiceJet officials said that according to the company guidelines, only a newborn above seven
days can travel in the plane following which the couple had no choice but to take a car and
complete their journey by road.
SpiceJet assured the couple a full refund of the ticket amount and asked them to email for the
same. However, the couple said that they have not received the refund yet despite emailing.
