Do not come in hordes to RGIA: Cops

Hyderabad: Shamshabad police have appealed to students going abroad and their family members not to come to the airport in hordes and create chaos, especially due to the high security alert at the airport in view of Independence Day celebrations.

RGI Airport authorities have already appealed to the passengers, asking not more than four persons to accompany their loved ones going abroad for further studies.

A police official said on an average 15 to 20 people are accompanying students going abroad and in some cases they have noticed 55 to 65 people landing at the airport to bid farewell to students. “I was shocked to see 65 friends and family members coming in a bus to see off one student from north Telangana going abroad. Even large contingents of family and friends are coming to see off city students,” said an airport police official.

Shamshabad DCP Narayana Reddy said close to 3,000 students go abroad every day from the airport and appealed to people to come in less numbers due Independence Day security alert in place.
