Hyderabad Airport: 70,000 cars and 6000 students daily

Due to the heavy traffic at hyderabad shamshabad airport brought on by the large number of students who fly overseas for their studies, the police have restricted accompanying people. Over the past 10 days, shamshabad airport has seen a daily departure rate of 5,000–6,000 people heading abroad for further education. Additionally, every day, 70,000 cars enter and exit the airport. 50,000 domestic passengers and 10,000 foreign travellers pass through rajiv gandhi International airport each day on average.

The situation is unchanged despite a warning. Due to a high-security alert for Independence Day, students are only permitted to be accompanied by three individuals. The telangana government suggested a second airport near Hakimpet for hyderabad due to the city's rapid growth and congestion. These issues would be resolved for the airport.

A police officer from the shamshabad police DCP office verified to india Herald that a student should not be accompanied by more than three people. The advise notes that there has been a notable increase in the number of meeters/greeters at the airport due to the annual rush of student traffic travelling overseas for education. With an average of 50 to 60 visitors every passenger and a significant number of vehicles, the approach road and ramps get congested.
