Malappuram: In a major drug bust at Karipur airport, authorities have apprehended a passenger for possessing narcotics valued at Rs 43 crore. Rajeev Kumar, hailing from Musafarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, was intercepted upon his arrival from Nairobi, Kenya, and was found in possession of three kilograms of cocaine and 1.25 kilograms of heroin. Officials have estimated the seized drugs to be worth approximately Rs 43 crore.
Rajeev Kumar, who had returned to India from Nairobi, was detained at Karipur Airport on a Tuesday morning flight Air Arabia from Sharjah. The illicit substance, valued at crores, had been concealed within bags, a purse, and even within his shoes. Questioning and investigations are currently underway.
