New Delhi: The customs department at IGI airport has arrested a person who arrived from Hyderabad for allegedly smuggling 1,040 grams of gold. Officials said the gold bar was smuggled through a flight from Dubai to Hyderabad.
The recovered gold has been seized. Officials said the Indian passenger was booked on July 24.
"On a detailed search, six cut pieces of gold bars - weighing a total of 1,040 grams and having a tariff value of Rs 54.34 lakh - were recovered. The recovered goods were found to be smuggled in the aircraft during its route from Dubai to Hyderabad," said an official.
