4 of kin held with 2kg gold worth Rs 1.75cr at Mumbai airport

Mumbai: The customs officials at the airport arrested four tourists who were returning from Dubai with 2 kg smuggled gold worth Rs 1.75 cr on Saturday.

Those arrested have been identified as, Ishwar Ramesh Gori, a resident of Vashi along with his relatives, Savan Velji Bhanushali, Shyam Ramesh Gori and Kunal Balasheb Valase.

The passengers walked through the green channel but on examination customs officials recovered crude gold ornaments and chains collectively weighing around 2kg.

Advocate Vijay Advani appeared for the accused who were remanded to judicial custody.
