Pune: In the third case of attempted good smuggling in less than a month, the Pune customs authorities, on July 30, caught two Chennai-based men who concealed and tried to smuggle gold in both paste and solid form.
“The duo had taken a flight from Singapore to Pune on a Vistara flight. The men who looked suspicious were stopped and searched. During the investigation, gold paste and two gold chains weighing 202 grams worth a total of Rs.12.35 lakh was recovered from them. One of them had created a special cavity in his underwear to conceal the paste,” a customs official told TOI.
