Vasco: Two passengers pretending to be mother and son were detained by immigration authorities at Dabolim International Airport on Thursday morning.
Dabolim airport police said that 33-year-old Rashmika Jasubhai Chaudharya, a resident of Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and 18-year-old Yashkumar Bharatbhai Patel, a resident of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, were departing to UAE by Air India Express flight.
They were intercepted at the departure immigration clearance counter when officials noticed something suspicious about their passports.
Rashmika had a passport issued in the name of Tarannum Sarfaraz Ahmed Shaikh, while Yashkumar’s fake passport was issued in the name of Asad Sarfaraz Ahmed Shaikh. The duo had replaced the original photographs on the bio page with their own.
