Ahmedabad: The city police commissioner declared a total of 202 — 36 in red and 166 in yellow — locations as no drone-flying zones in a notification issued on September 2. The remaining green zones will require permission from Digital Sky application of the Directorate General Of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for drone flying, the notification mentioned.
The red zones are restricted airspaces that indicate ‘strictly no flying’ within a radius of 3km each from the perimeters of PRL, Gujarat High Court, Sola Civil Hospital, Civil Hospital, Income Tax office, Torrent Power, ONGC, Narendra Modi Stadium, cantonment areas and city domestic and international airports among other establishments.
Special permission will be required to fly drones in the yellow zones, each having a no-fly range of 2km from the perimeters of key establishments.
