Bathinda-Delhi flights to resume from Oct 9, after 3 over year gap

Bathinda: Flights from Bathinda civil airport to Delhi are expected to resume after a gap of over three years. The Alliance Air has released a schedule of flights from Delhi to Bathinda and back from October 9.

The flights will run three days a week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The 42-seater aircraft will fly from Delhi at 1.25pm and reach Bathinda at 2.40pm. It will depart from Bathinda at 3.05pm and reach Delhi at 4.15pm. The one way fare will be Rs 1,999.

The flights from Bathinda airport were grounded in 2020 when Covid lockdown was announced and since then no flights were operated from the airport. The flight service from Bathinda airport had started in 2016 and it used to cater to several districts in Punjab and neighbouring areas of Rajasthan and Haryana.

On March 31, 2022, former Union minister and Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal had raised the demand for resumption of flights from Bathinda during the question hour, stating that grounding of flights had adversely affected the business and caused inconvenience to air travelers in the Malwa region. Bathinda DC Showkat Ahmad Parray confirmed that Alliance Air had announced to start operations from October 9.
