‘Stuck since 8 am’: Air India AI 427 passengers stranded inside Delhi–Bengaluru plane, no takeoff till afternoon

A passenger onboard told Moneycontrol that travellers had been seated inside the aircraft since morning without any clear updates from the crew. While a “technical issue” was cited as the reason for the delay, no detailed explanation was provided. The situation was particularly difficult for families travelling with children and elderly passengers, the source added.

Frustration quickly spilled onto X, where multiple passengers and users called out the airline. One user questioned whether the flight would take off at all, noting that passengers had been inside since 8 am without any meaningful update. Another criticised the airline’s handling of the situation, claiming passengers were left in limbo for over four hours, with the only option being to deboard voluntarily.

Some posts also alleged that maintenance work, including tyre changes, was being carried out after passengers had already boarded, raising further concerns about coordination and transparency. Others highlighted the lack of basic support, with claims that passengers had been waiting for hours without food, clear timelines, or information on refunds in case they chose to switch flights.
