Theft: MDF urges to install CCTVs at Calicut airport

Kozhikode: The Malabar Development Forum (MDF) today urged the government to install Closed Circuit Television Cameras (CCTVs) at Calicut International Airport near here to avert stealing from bags of passengers from abroad.

Talking to reporters, MDF President K.M. Basheer and General Secretary K. Saifuddin said many valuables were looted from the bags of passengers between parking bay and customs scanner room.

They said costly Armani watch worth Rs 50,000 was missing from the luggage of film personality Nikesh Puthalath, who landed at the airport on September 9.

Aziz of Thamarassery in the district lost his bag containing valuables worth Rs one lakh from the Customs hall recently, they said.
