EL AL demands special rights of surveillance around Mumbai airport

Mumbai: According to Urdu daily Inquilab report of August 23, 2006, Israel has asked Mumbai airport authorities for especial privileges to secure their airline security, in view of Mumbai airport being surrounded by big slum colonies. Of the scores of foreign airlines flying into Mumbai Airport, it is only the Israeli Airline, EL AL that has made an issue of security out of the existence of slums around the airport parameter.
Fifty percent population of Mumbai city lives in slums and the problem is one of the most vexatious challenges to the make over of the city.
