Kolkata: An Indian flight’s emergency landing saved a passenger’s life this morning. Flight IC401 from Delhi to Kolkata took off from Delhi at about 7-50 am with 116 passengers on board. When the plane was flying near Lucknow at 8-45 am, Mr S Mukhophadhyay, a Steel Authority of India official posted in Kolkata, complained of severe chest pain. The pilot contacted Lucknow Air Traffic Control officials and requested for emergency landing. The flight landed there.
AAI and Indian officials got him admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences. According to the doctors, Mr Mukhophadhyay suffered a cardiac arrest and any delay could have been critical.
