Chennai: Some police officials at Chennai airport were today accused of breaching protocol while providing conveyance to Chief Minister M Karuna nidhi's elder son M K Azhagiri, who is in the midst of a controversy over the attack on Tamil daily 'Dinakaran' at Madurai.
Azhagiri, who arrived here this morning by a Paramount Airways flight, was asked by a few high-ranking police officials to exit the airport by Gate No.1 and take a special car belonging to Paramount Airways, official sources said.
Azhagiri who had come here to attend Karunanidhi's felicitation function this evening, took the special car from the gate as per direction.
Sources said as per protocol, the car was meant only for the airline crew members and not for any passenger while Gate No.1 was used only by VIPs, where special pilot cars led them to and from the airport.
A departmental inquiry has been ordered by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), sources said.
