Flight trouble

Kolkata: Air India’s flight IC-229 developed a snag after landing at Guwahati airport this morning. The flight, which left Kolkata with 94 passengers on board, landed in Guwahati at about 11:10 a.m.. After landing the pilot noticed that the aircraft was tilting to one side. Engineers at Guwahati tried to rectify the defect but it could not be done. The aircraft was grounded. Guwahati passengers scheduled to come to Kolkata by the return flight had to be brought here by other flights.
Air India’s flight from Agartala to Kolkata, which landed at NSC Bose airport at 2.40 p.m., was hit by a bird shortly before landing. But the flight with 101 passengers on board landed safely. The left engine of the aircraft developed a small defect because of the bird-hit. It was later repaired.
