Boeing to deliver more wide-body jets to India next year

New Delhi: US aircraft manufacturer Boeing on Tuesday said the company will deliver more wide-bodied 777 aircraft to India in 2009 than in the current year, besides the 787 Dreamliner.
The company was to deliver nine such airplanes in the current calendar year, of which it has already supplied two.
"There will be more wide-bodied aircraft deliveries in India next year than this year. The deliver of 787 Dreamliner would also start by next year," Boeing Senior VP-Sales Dinesh A Keskar told reporters here on the sidelines of a seminar on airports.
However, he declined to give the timeline for the delivery of 787 Dreamliner scheduled for next year.
The delivery of seven 777 aircraft, scheduled for the remainder of the current year, would be taken primarily by Jet Airways and Air India.
Boeing would also deliver 12 aircrafts of the 737 series in the current year, apart from the five it has already sent.
