Hyderabad: Siemens Information Systems Ltd (SISL), part of the diversified Siemens Group, is upbeat on airport automation projects in India and overseas.
India is the global headquarters for its transportation and airport-related services stream. It has created an airport lab in Bangalore and a proof of concept centre for airport automation solutions.
The company has deployed a comprehensive IT backbone as a Master System Integrator for the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad, and is working with the Bangalore airport and GMR for New Delhi airport-modernisation projects.
The Executive Vice-President of Siemens Information Systems, Mr A.S. Viswanathan, told Business Line that what has been attempted in these projects is innovative and has potential to be replicated in other new projects in India and overseas.
