Mumbai: In his first interaction with the media since his arrest, co-pilot Arjun Menon told TOI on Wednesday that he and Sucheta Anand did not have any fight on the day she committed suicide at a Juhu hotel.
Anand, an air hostess with the same airline where Menon was a co-pilot, hanged herself from the ceiling fan of the Juhu hotel on June 7. Cops arrested Menon two days later and charged him with abetting her suicide.
Menon, during that brief chat, insisted that he did not have any argument "at all" on June 7 with Anand."There was no fight at all over marriage issues," Menon said, implying that she never insisted that he marry her.Cops also suspect Menon could have threatened Anand that he would terminate their relationship, prompting her to end her life.
But Menon denied this vehemently on Thursday.
"Everything is on record. Police officials have uestioned my colleagues and friends. They have recorded the statement of another friend (whom he met after leaving Anand's hotel room)," he said. But Menon refused to answer questions about his relation with that friend.
But senior inspector Dilip Gaikwad insisted that police had enough evidence to prove its case. The police case is Menon was into multiple relationships and left Anand to be with another girl, prompting Anand to take the extreme step.
