Passengers lodge complaint for stolen luggage

Durgapur: The Loin’s Club delegates to Bangkok have lost their cameras & cell-phones mysteriously while onboard in an Air India return flight to Kolkata. The passengers have lodged complaints with the National Airport Corporation of India of the government air traffic company. Though the Air India, according to the victims: “Was yet to respond or give any positive information about the proceedings.”
A group of Lions’ Club delegates from south Bengal districts had been to Bangkok to cast their votes during the international presidential election of the volunteer service organisation. A section of the group members chose Air India flights to return to Kolkata. Two of the delegates have complained that their cameras, cell-phones purchased at Bangkok were suspiciously missing from their luggage.
Mr Pradip Chatterjee, assistant engineer, ~ Durgapur Municipal Corporation and his co-passenger Mr Deepak Saw, - an Income Tax lawyer from Purulia complained that they had handed over their luggage to the Air India officials at Bangkok airport about an hour prior to departure on the morning of 1 July, the day of their journey. They were returned their luggage at NSC Bose Airport, Kolkata at 2.30 pm. The hard luggage, according to them: “Bore no marks of tampering or forcible unlocking and we never suspected any mischief.”
with serious concern and complained to the vigilance officer at the Kolkata Airport. Mr Chatterjee’s complaint has been received by the vigilance department, NACIL, Kolkata on 2 July.
