New Delhi: Air Works, an aviation service provider, today announced that it has been appointed as the service centre for Italian helicopter manufacturer Agusta Westland in India.
Air Works, an MRO, will provide maintenance, repair and support services to owners and operations of Agusta Westland helicopters under the contract, the Indian company&aposs chief executive officer Fredrik Groth said in a statement.
At present, Air Works has its helicopter servicing and maintenance facility at Mumbai international airport, Delhi and Chennai.
It also supports helicopter maintenance and repair services in other cities such as Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune, he added.
With a workforce of over 500 employees across 12 airports in the country, the company provides services for fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
It also became the first Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) approved independent airline MRO in November 2008 for its commercial operations in Hosur near Bangalore.
