Striking AI staff to stage demonstration at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi: Intensifying its stir, the striking contractual security and commercial staff of Air India have decided to stage a demonstration at Jantar Mantar tomorrow.
"We have decided to stage a demonstration at Jantar Mantar tomorrow as we are not being heard by the management," Sanjeev Kalkal, generel secretary of the Indian Airlines Limited-Airport Services Limited (IAL-ASL) Employees Union said.
Nearly 300 contractual security and commercial workers of Air India at Amritsar, Jaipur and other airports are on strike from June 1 in support of their demands of better pay package and medical benefits.
They have also decided to meet Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and put forward their grievances.
"We will go and meet Rahul Gandhi as he is a youth leader. And here youth are facing problems,"he said, adding if needed we will stage a demonstration there also.
