Mysore: The Mysore airport will not start commercial operations from August 15 as had been proposed, and the opening blues could extend till the Dasara. District minister Suresh Kumar on Wednesday said chief minister B S Yeddyurappa will discuss the possibility of commercial flight operations at a meeting here on August 12.
It has been two months since Kingfisher Airlines approached the Airports Authority of India and Directorate-General of Civil Aviation stating its readiness to operate flights from Mysore from August 15, but the state government is yet to act.
During the Global Investors’ Meet, the CM discussed the issue with Kingfisher boss Vijay Mallya, and the airline wrote to the AAI in the first week of June.
The AAI wrote to the chief secretary, infrastructure secretary and Mysore DC. As the airline’s flight plan hasn’t reached the civil aviation ministry, there is no word from the DGCA either.
