Lucknow: At least seven New Delhi-bound passengers were deprived of boarding a Jet Airways flight on Monday morning apparently due to a flight information goof-up. It was only after the passengers raised objections and demanded refund that the airlines adjusted the passengers on different flights.
According to reports, seven passengers were to board a New Delhi-bound S2-138 flight with a schedule departure at 7.25 am. However, they received an SMS that the flight has been cancelled and they have been accommodated on a different flight, 9W-2638, which would depart at 7.15 am. But when these passengers reached the Amausi airport they discovered that the flight had already left for Delhi at 6.25 am. One of the passengers, Nidhi Jaitley claimed of receiving an SMS from Jet Airways a week ago that the flight 9W-2638 would depart at 7.15 am. "So I reached the airport at 6.30 am as usually we check in at least 30 minutes before the schedule departure. However, I was told that the flight had already left. There were at least six more passengers with me who could not board the flight,'' she told TOI. The situation was peculiar especially for those who had a connecting flight from Delhi. They all faced the prospects of missing the flight.
