Vadodara: The Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) has once again approached the Center with a request for a proper air connectivity for Vadodara.
It was last month that FGI officials had approached the Civil Aviation minister and other officials concerned. They had informed them about the urgency to have more frequent and better connectivity of Vadodara with the metro cities. Also, Vadodara MP Balkrishna Shukla had raised the issue in Parliament.
Following the representations, Air India had agreed to start an additional Delhi-Vadodara-Delhi flight from March 27. But the joy of this news did not last for long as Air India failed to start the service on the day formally announced. And the reason given by AI officials, according to FGI office-bearers, was not convincing. “We were extremely euphoric when Air India announced their regular flight to Delhi. Quite a few seats on this flight were booked in advance.
