Afghan killed in Jangpura, fiance held at IGI Airport

New Delhi: A 22-year-old woman from US, who came to the Capital last month to meet her fiance, was murdered on Saturday night after she allegedly refused to marry him.
Paimana Khanjar, of Afghanistan origin, was studying in California to become a translator. Her body was found with multiple stab injuries at Shamsher Guesthouse in Jangpura, Southeast Delhi.
Early on Sunday morning, with the help of the Immigration authorities at the IGI Airport police arrested Khanjar’s fiance Omid Milad Hussain Khill, an Afghanistan national.
Police said Khanjar came to India on February 25 and was staying at her aunt’s house in Jangpura. She was engaged to Khill around three years ago, and was in the country to discuss marriage. Khill came to the city on February 26.
