All-woman crew takes to the skies


Bangalore: An all-woman crew on board national carrier Air India’s early morning flight to Delhi will welcome the passengers on Friday. Bangalore-based Capt. V. Roopa will be in command along with Capt. Niranjana Ashok as co-pilot for the Airbus A 319 taking off from Bengaluru International Airport at 6.15 a.m.
A release from Air India said the all-woman crew has been deployed on several flights across its network on Friday as part of International Women’s Day. Among others, Rita Gurang will be in-charge of the cabin and air hostesses Modanna D’ Souza, Chandni Bhagat and Rajni will attend to passengers and make in-flight announcements. The same crew will operate the return flight leaving Delhi at 9.45 a.m. to land in Bangalore at 12.30 p.m.
