Raipur: the rich and the famous of Chhattisgarh are already flaunting around their newfound activity of 'flying high' in air taxis and chartered flights across the state instead of enduring the travails of a road and rail journeys. With the state government giving a go ahead, Chhattisgarh Air link, a private company, which began operation in the first week of December 2012, has made hailing a taxi with wings a reality but for those who can afford.
The government's move to introduce air taxi service is specifically targeted towards industry and aimed at attracting more investments by providing easy connectivity within the state for the high flying CEOs, CFOs and other executives of business and industrial houses. The service presently connects the cities of Jashpur, Bilaspur, Jagdalpur, Korba, Ambikapur, Raipur and Raigarh with a six seat C-90 Beachcraft.
In the coming days the service could well prove a boon for the deep-pocketed industrialists, business houses and politicians of the state, as it considerably reduces the travails of road and rail travel besides adding a 'status' and style for those who have the money to spend.
