Anjolie Ela Menon to unveil mural on old Delhi at IGI

New Delhi: Leading contemporary artist Anjolie Ela Menon will open a new chapter in public art April 19 when she unveils her new mural - Walled City - at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) for visitors to the capital to glimpse a slice of the city`s Mughal history.
The mural will be unveiled by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
"Walled City", described by critics as one of Menon`s most ambitious works is a 21 feet by 8.2 feet mural of a city street of old Delhi or the old quarters of the national capital.
"This street in a walled city is a microcosm of the Indian street. It is unique to our urban culture that the street is the arena for life itself. This is where people live, work, travel, ply their trades, interact, romance, play, celebrate and protest," Menon said.
