Centre to look into cost overrun, glitches at airport

Chennai: The Centre will look into issue like cost escalation, passenger complaints about quality of service, maintenance and other problems relating to the new international terminal at Chennai airport and open it in one month, said minister of state for civil aviation K C Venugopal on Friday.
"We will look into all issues and will open the new international terminal in one month. The ministry will study all issues and will decide about taking action on cost escalation," he said.
Joint secretary of civil aviation Anil Srivastava inspected the new terminal and gathered feedback about its condition. The ministry's decision and action on the delay would be based on the feedback.
"We will look into delays and cost escalation," said Venugopal when asked about fixing responsibility for the delays and complaints from passengers and airlines. "This is a public sector organisation, and there will be issues. We are trying to sort them out," he said.
