Fire station at Tiruchi airport adjudged best in South India

Tiruchi: The fire station of Tiruchi International Airport has been adjudged the best in “Group B” airports in Southern Region in 2012-13.
The Tiruchi Airport was chosen for the “Best Fire Station Award” after an intense scrutiny and evaluation of various parameters and the level of preparedness of its fire services personnel. The scrutiny was conducted in 11 “group B” airports in the southern region by a committee comprising top officials of the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Presenting the trophy to the Tiruchi Airport Fire Services team here on Saturday, D. Devaraj, Regional Executive Director, AAI, Southern Region, Chennai, said the AAI had been according great importance to passenger safety and security besides taking a host of initiatives to augment quality. The award had been given to motivate the fire services personnel of Tiruchi airport and maintain the standards, he said.
