Kochi: In a big haul of smuggled items, air Intelligence unit of the Customs today seized 14 kg of saffron, 110 cartons of cigarettes and gold bars weighing two kg from three different passengers who arrived at the airport here from Dubai.
While 14 kg of saffron valued at Rs 14 lakh was seized from one Muhammed Afsal Achanichi of Kozhikode district when he arrived here this morning, a total of 110 cartons of cigarettes valued at Rs 1.76 lakh was seized from Abdul Rahiman of Kasaragod district, a customs release said.
