New system to minimize chances of human error: Airports Authority of India chairman

Jaipur: The landing and take-off from Jaipur airport will become more accurate as the latest ATS (airport transit system) Automation System was inaugurated by VP Agarwal, chairman of Airports Authority of India (AAI), on Tuesday.
Informing about the new system, Agarwal said, "This is the latest technique which will enable Air Traffic Control to see the location and position of flights in a radius of 450 km on screen. This technique is connected to automatic flight display, situational data display, control and monitoring display."
He said that communication in operations plays a role of navigation and surveillance. With the system, the Jaipur airport's reach has increased from 25,500 feet height against the 14,500 feet in the old system.
