New Delhi: In the wake of the Bodh Gaya blasts, in which two persons were injured, security has been enhanced across all airports in the country. Sources said that passengers will be subjected to secondary ladder point checks by the security staff of airlines concerned just before boarding.
Sources said 22 airports, including the Indira Gandhi International Airport, will be kept on high alert as they fall in the category of 'hypersensitive' airports.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the premier security agency with anti-hijack and anti-sabotage duties, will be required to conduct a thorough check of passengers.
"In the wake of the Bodh Gaya blasts, we have enhanced the security across all airports in the country. While procedures are usually in place since airports are sensitive areas, we are taking no chances" a senior CISF official said.
