New Delhi: Though IGI airport, thankfully enough, didn't witness flooding like on other occasions, but for people flying out or coming in, it was bad news. Several passengers and crew got caught in the traffic jams across the city.
A total of 10 flights were delayed and many passengers who were unable to reach the airport in time had to be accommodated on flights scheduled for later. Most airlines had to face this problem.
"About four of our flights were delayed since the crew was unable to make it on time. But other flights, for which passengers were delayed, left on time. These passengers were accommodated on later flights. The evening operations were carried on as per schedule since the traffic mess must have cleared up by then," said an Air India official.
