AirAsia applies to DGCA for permit

New Delhi: Flying into the second phase of its approval process, AirAsia India has applied to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for an Air Operators Permit (AOP). The airline filed the application for an AOP to the DGCA on Friday, 11 days after it announce a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the civil aviation ministry.
"We have received the NOC copy from the civil aviation ministry and the scrutiny process to provide AOP to AirAsia India is on. If all the documents filed by the airline fulfils the regulatory process, we would be able to issue the AOP in a month's time," said a DGCA official.
He further said that the procedure to award AOP will be according to CAP 3100 that involves a checklist of 36 items.
