Ahmedabad: Extended weekends coupled with Janmashtami, Eid and Independence Day in August spurred passenger movement to the maximum at Sardar Vallabhbhai International Airport.
Compared to August 2012, the city airport recorded a growth of 46% in terms of international fliers in August, 2013. According to AAI data, this year saw 74,844 international fliers, up from 51,251 passengers last year.The airport also witnessed 2,98,612 domestic passengers in August, up from 2,36,081 passengers in August 2012. Both international and domestic passengers' movement in August is the highest in current year since April.
