Jaipur: The flight operations at Jaipur airport remained suspended for nearly 12 hours since Sunday night after a tyre of a Guwahati-Delhi flight, which was diverted to Jaipur, burst while landing. The flight operations resumed at 12.53 pm on Monday after the aircraft, which got stranded on the runway, was tugged to a corner.
On Sunday night, an Air India flight from Guwahati to Delhi carrying 173 passengers was diverted to Jaipur airport due to poor visibility in Delhi. While landing, one of its tyres burst while its left wing also damaged. However, the passengers escaped unhurt and were taken to Delhi by bus late on Sunday night.
Since the aircraft got stranded on the runaway, all flights to and from Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chandigarh , Delhi and other destinations could not land or take-off . The anxious passengers were seen constantly asking the authorities concerned when the services would resume. Many who had to take domestic flights to various destinations were intimated by the airlines authorities on the re-scheduling of their flights.
