Kochi: Senior Congress leader Philipose Thomas's flight to the LDF camp stems from strong resentment over the Aranmula airport project that has been brewing for a few years. Thomas, AICC member and former DCC president, was totally opposed to the Aranmula airport project and has made known his views against party colleague and MLA K Sivadasan Nair, a strong advocate of the project.
Thomas took an open stand against the project, which enjoys wholehearted support of chief minister Oommen Chandy and incumbent MP Anto Antony, and had aligned with saffron camp leading a campaign against the project.
