Bangalore airport handles 12.86 million passengers in 2013-14

The Kempegowda International Airport at Bangalore reorded a 12.7 growth  - the highest since May 2008 -- in air traffic movements (ATM) at 118,575 in 2013-14 and handled 7.3 per cent more passengers at 12.86 million as compared to the previous year.
 A press release from Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) said the aircraft had witnessed an average of 325 ATMs per day. It handled 10.23 million domestic and 2.63 million international passengers during the year.
 The airlines witnessed average daily passenger numbers of 35,259 travellers, with seat load factors of 69% for domestic and 75% for international flights, respectively.
 The release said new domestic routes to and from Bangalore included Imphal, Agatti, Surat, Mysore, Puducherry, Guwahati, Belgaum, Tuticorin, Indore and Dehradun.
 Additionally, low-cost carrier SpiceJet started international operations to Bangkok in October.
 New connectivity includes Air Costa which started domestic operations to Vijayawada and Jaipur.
