Bengaluru: The City police have made massive security arrangements for the five-day Aero India-2015 which will kick off at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka on Wednesday.
The police will be on their toes, especially on Wednesday, in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the City to inaugurate the air show.
Police Commissioner M?N?Reddi said on Monday that Modi would be also visiting the University of Agricultural Sciences at GKVK, the Indian Institute of Science and Nimhans. Security has been tightened at all these places and traffic will be restricted on all the stretches Modi and his convoy will pass through, Reddi said. He said security will be tightened in hotels where delegates from across the world will be staying.?The hotel managements have been directed to ensure thorough frisking and have in place metal detector facilities.
The police will keep constant vigil till the event concludes on February 22. As many as 3,000 policemen, including Home Guards, will be pressed into security and traffic-related services, Reddi said.
