ozhikode: Eight men of the Airports Authority of India's fire and safety department have been arrested in connection with the death of a head constable of the Central Industrial Security Force, or CISF two days ago. Earlier, 11 personnel had been detained for questioning.
Violence had flared up at Kerala's Kozhikode airport on Wednesday night after the CISF man was shot during an argument with the airport personnel.
CCTV footage accessed by NDTV shows a group of AAI staff surrounding two CISF jawans, roughing up one and chasing him. At that point, a gunshot is heard, which, police say, led to the death of the jawan.
The CCTV footage shows the AAI staff run out of the gate in panic after the incident.
Armed CISF personnel were soon seen creating pandemonium at the airport after the death of their colleague.
