Patna: The state government on Saturday decided to send a proposal to the Union civil aviation ministry for constructing airports at Darbhanga and Purnia besides expanding Patna airport.
Chairing a review meeting on the big ticket infrastructure projects in the state, CM Nitish Kumar said the state government provided land for expansion of Patna airport as per the aviation ministry request but nothing happened. He also said the state made land available for airport at Bihta, in south Patna and 1,500 acre between Pawapuri and Nalanda but things did not materialize at the Centre's end. The CM also said the state had provided 1,410 acre of land to NTPC for 2500x4 MW power plants at Nabi- nagar project in Aurangabad district. The officials told the CM that the NHAI had to complete the approach road of Digha rail-cum-road bridge over river Ganga and the central agency was to be blamed for the delay in its completion.
