Kochi: The high court on Tuesday ordered for releasing on bail the CISF personnel involved in the scuffle with Airports Authority of India (AAI) staff at Calicut Airport without insisting for bail amount of Rs 5.35 lakh each that was set by a Manjeri court.
A division bench comprising justices V K Mohanan and Raja Vijayaraghavan V issued an interim order to this effect after considering a petition filed by the four CISF personnel, who are accused of destruction of airport property.
In the petition filed to the high court, the CISF personnel had claimed that AAI's claim that damages occurred to the tune of Rs73.13 lakh was an inflated one and that they won't be able to deposit Rs 5.35 lakh each as they were salaried personnel and won't be able to raise such amounts.
