Bengaluru man, who allegedly killed his wife and made hoax calls to frame his 'lover's' husband, arrested by city police

Bengaluru: It was a man who had allegedly killed his wife and was having an affair with a married woman who made the hoax bomb calls to delay the departure of three international flights at Kempe Gowda International Airport in Bengaluru and the Delhi airport on Saturday morning. The 33-year-old techie identified as MG Gokul has been arrested in Bengaluru for making the calls.
Gokul, who was arrested on Monday, was having an affair with a married woman. He stole her husband’s passport, brought a SIM card in her husband's name, created a Facebook page in the husband's name and showed him as an ISIS follower hoping that it will attract the attention of the Cyber Cell Police.
When that didn't happen, he made a call to Bengaluru Airport. But while no one answered there, he called at the Delhi airport and said there was a threat to 3 flights. Later, he called Bengaluru Airport and issued threat to another 3 flights through WhatsApp messages.
Bangalore Police Commissioner NS Megharikh confirmed to CNN-IBN that officials traced the mobile number from which he made calls from his apartment. "There is no angle of terrorism in this case prima facie. We came to know that the accused's wife died in mysterious circumstances, we are probing this case," said NS Megharikh.
Addressing media, the Bengaluru Police Commissioner also said, “hoax caller Gokul had an affair with his friend Saju Joseph’s wife. He made a call and sent WhatsApp messages from a mobile obtained in her husband’s name. The delay and diversion of aircrafts caused a loss of over One million dollars to the airlines and airports. It can even harm the reputation of India. It is a serious matter. Gokul is from Kerala, but a resident of Bengaluru”.
Police officers also claimed that Gokul had confessed to assaulting his wife after which she died.
